We are fortunate to have truly excellent professional City management. In Coppell, the Mayor isn’t responsible for running the city on a day-to-day basis. Our voters deserve to have a choice when selecting their next Mayor. Coppell is a very diverse city that recently voted to elect Joe Biden as President. When I learned that Mayor Karen Hunt would be stepping down, and that one of our more conservative City Council members would be running for Mayor unopposed, I felt it was my duty to step up. For me January 6th was a turning point, and I knew I could no longer sit on the sidelines. With everything that's happened in the last four years - the racial injustice, climate denial, lack of access to healthcare and vaccines, and voter suppression - I felt that I had to do more. But when I began my law practice, I saw first-hand the vast inequality in our country, and in Dallas County. For most of my life I thought government in general was working OK, and that the majority of elected officials acted in good faith. I never expected to run for public office. Why are you running, and what in your past would make you a benefit to residents? If given the opportunity to serve Coppell as its Mayor, I pledge to do my best to work with the City Council and the City Manager’s team to deliver on our mutual goals for the citizens of Coppell. Whether as a wealth advisor or as a lawyer, I have always placed the well-being of my team and my clients first, and worked hard to earn their trust and confidence. Together, we exceeded our new business goal by an astounding 100%, completing the transfer of over $200 million of client assets to the new bank that year. We developed a multi-pronged strategy leveraging the strengths of each team member. But as a team we trusted each other, and more importantly, we had earned the trust and confidence of our clients.

I knew this would be a heavy lift wealth management accounts are notoriously sticky, and I’d never seen an individual move more than $20 million across banks. That move was successful, and with the new bank we committed to a performance-based compensation structure and a goal of transferring $100 million of client assets with us in the first year. I approached my team, and they placed their trust in me to lead negotiations for the entire team to move to another bank. The bank made the decision to merge with a large Canadian bank, and in my judgment the platform of the new bank would not adequately serve our clients’ needs.
